Job Description

The Director of IT for Solution Delivery is responsible for the Information Technology practices required to design, implement, and support business solutions suitable to enable business processes and capabilities.  This includes setting objectives as well as managing the resources and budgets necessary for all Solution Delivery initiatives.

  • Set objectives and track progress for the IT Solution Delivery department.Collaborate with business owners to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage through the deployment of technology-driven applications.
  • Recommend suitable applications, products, and platforms available in the market to address operational and back office business opportunities.
  • Consistently demonstrate SMG’s Core Competencies.
  • Deploy, configure, and support software & data solutions to improve customer experience.
  • Deploy, configure, and support software & data solutions to improve business processes.
  • Manage resources in collaboration with other IT & business departments to deliver enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Direct and organize IT-related projects required for adopting, upgrading, and enhancing software & data solutions.
  • Facilitate purchases of software/data applications and solutions and establish partnerships with commercial business solution providers.
  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of application & data platforms to advise management and suggest ongoing improvements.
  • Champion and implement software delivery practices necessary to achieve agility, speed-to-market, and reliable delivery of business solutions.
  • Manage application providers to ensure optimal performance, support, and adherence to operational service-levels agreements.

Requirements

  • 3 years of leading IT application & data development and/or delivery teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT application, data and integration architectures.
  • Background in deploying commercial solutions requiring integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with providing solutions in a multi-unit concept business (e.g., retail, hospitality, entertainment)
  • Familiarity with Retail POS, eCommerce, Inventory, Finance & HR domains.
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and planning capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations.
  • A pragmatic, continuous improvement mindset for building capabilities for use in the business.
  • Experience with selecting and managing external vendors/partners in building, delivering, and operating business applications.
  • Familiarity with executing in an agile environment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field.
